June Recruiting Review

Well, that was a fun month of June! We had at least 50 recruits make their way to Athens for official visits, and even more for camps and 7on7 competitions. There were eight top prospects who decided to Commit to the G in June:

5* LB Zayden Walker - Was a Dawg for a while.Beat South Carolina and many others for him.

4* LB Christian Garrett - Prince Ave Christian prospect staying home. Clemson and others wanted him bad.

4* S Todd Robinson - UGA did a great job getting in on the Valdosta QB early. It was a wrap from there.

4* WR Talyn Taylor - One of my favorite receivers in the nation. Notre Dame and Ohio State were also after him big time.

5* ED Isaiah Gibson - Pretty much everyone (besides maybe USC fans) knew he’d end up a Dawg. Tennesse also wanted him bad after he decommitted from the Trojans.

4* OL Dontrell Glover - There wasn’t going to be much true competition after he decommitted from Alabama.

4* Tyler Williams - Very underrated receiver in my opinion. I think he is mch more explosive than what people realize.

3* WR Landon Roldan - Big in-state get over Ga Tech. This kid can flat out play football!

Last month also included Gibson and his in-state defensive line partner, 5* Justus Terry, decommit from Southern Cal.

There were also plenty of targets who committed elsewhere:

LB Tavion Wallace - Arkansas - just happened in July, really shocked the world here, doubt it sticks with Sam Pittman more than likely getting fired at the end of the year

ED Julius Holly - Michigan - not a priority

CB Dijon Lee - Alabama - we just got beat here

CB Chris Ewald - Miami - not necessarily a priority but was a take, chose to stay closer to home

WR CJ Wiley - FSU - have him predicted to eventually flip to UGA

DL Kevin Wynn - FSU - a take for UGA, let’s see if this one sticks

ED Zion Grady - Ohio State - not a take for UGA

WR Jerel Bolder - NC State - was a take, good get for the Wolfpack to keep him home

S Eric Winters - Auburn - top target, Aub did a good job keeping him close to home

OL Jaelyne Matthews - Rutgers - was not a take

OL Michael Carroll - Alabama - this is a prospect we really wanted, good get for Alabama. They’re hitting NIL hard right now.

OL Ziyare Addison - another we really wanted. Dan Lanning is doing a great job recruiting right now.

Look for there to be many more commits in July, with the Dawgs adding a few and maybe missing on one or two. What do y'all think about the June haul?
