The Georgia - Georgia Tech rivalry, known as 'Clean Old Fashioned Hate', has a new home for the 2025 season. Rather than being played on campus, the annual meeting between the two will take place inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, as reported by Chad Bishop for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

It will be the first time the game has been played off campus since Bobby Dodd Stadium's opening in 1913, as Georgia Tech AD J Batt stated.

"In partnering with AMB Sports and Entertainment (AMBSE) to move Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for 2025, we agreed to changes in the contract that calls for us to play one game annually at Mercedes-Benz Stadium through 2026," Batt said. "As part of the new agreement, AMBSE will provide us with a $10 million guarantee just to play the 2025 Georgia Tech-Georgia game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, a transformative revenue lift for Tech Athletics."

Tickets will not be a part of Georgia Tech's 2025 season ticket packages.

While fans may be disappointed in the relocation of the rivalry in 2025, it will not be permanent as the matchup will return to campus in Sanford Stadium in 2026, followed by Bobby Dodd in 2027, returning to the traditional home-and-home rotation.

Change was previously made to the rivalry for 2024, with the game set to take place on Black Friday, Nov. 29, rather than the traditional Saturday matchup.
