DawgsCentral has learned more details on injuries suffered by quarterback Carson Beck and guard Tate Ratledge during Georgia’s 13-12 win at Kentucky on Saturday night.

Beck suffered an AC joint sprain in his non-throwing shoulder in the victory. Sources described the injury as “minor” on Monday afternoon.

Georgia fans held their collective breath when Beck was seen holding his left shoulder awkwardly after falling on his elbow at the end of a 7-yard run on Georgia’s final drive of the night. The injury can be treated with rest and therapy, and he is not expected to miss any time.

Ratledge will undergo TightRope surgery to repair a high ankle sprain. He suffered a sprained MCL on the same play and both injuries were to his left leg. DawgsHQ’s Rusty Mansell first reported the sprains to Ratledge’s ankle and MCL on Monday morning.

Sources put Ratledge’s estimated recovery time at 6-8 weeks, but stressed that recovery times vary greatly.

UGA offensive lineman Amarius Mims underwent the procedure last season after suffering a high ankle sprain against South Carolina on September 16th. He was out of action for 8 weeks, and didn’t return to the field until Georgia faced Ole Miss at home on November 11th.

Georgia fell to #2 in the AP poll after its narrow escape in Lexington. The Bulldogs have a bye this Saturday before returning to action on September 28th at #4 Alabama.
